Mend Dimmer Switch Work

where to get a dimmer replacement?

I have to replace a domestic lighting dimmer switch unit because the spring action of the switch does not work. I have bought a replacement unit but find it is too tall to fit the space. The height of the old unit is only 5cm, by 3cm wide. Where can I get a replacement unit of that size?
