Mend Amana Wash Completely Spin

How can I fix my amana washer?

My washer is approximately 8 to 12 years old, however, it will only cycle on the wash and rinse cycle and completely miss the spin and go to the next cycle. How can i fix this without a tech coming in? The spin cycle will only work if I manually turn the knob, several times until the spin will catch. What is wrong?
