Hotpoint ultima wma62 won't turn drum?

I have a hotpoint ultima wma62 that won't turn the drum during the cycle.i've checked the belt and it's fine and I can turn the drum and moots spindle by hand without issue. It fills and drains no problem, just never turns the drum. If I put it on a spin only cycle then the pump runs and sounds like it's trying to push the last bit of water out all the time but never turns the drum. On a full wash it fills with water then just waits when it should be spinning and then eventually drains completely and ends as if it should have all been fine. Any ideas?
