Mend Hotpoint BWD 129 Flashing Cycle Model

what is the diagnosis for rapid flashing light on dryer cycle model hotpoin?

I have a hotpoint washer dryer model bwd 129 . In the dryer mode it will start up alright and then within a few minutes the rapid blinking red light goes on . Have to turn washing machine off at mains. What do you think the problem is, and can it be fixable?
