HI I HAVE A RENAULT MASTER 2.2 DCI THAT THE TIMING BELT SNAPED ON. FITTED NEW BELT AND TURNED BY HAND FOUND O.K. TRIED TO START ENGINE TURNING OVER FINE BUT NOT STARTING. CHECKED OVER FOUND FUEL TO FILTER O.K AND DOWN TO HIGH PRESSURE PUMP O.K BUT WHEN CHECKED FUEL TO FUEL RAIL AND INJECTORS ONLY DRIPPING FUEL OUT. IS IT POSS INTERNAL FAILURE OF HIGH PRESSURE PUMP. PLEASE COULD YOU GIVE ME ANY INFO OR IDEAS. THANKS ANDY
it could be the high pressure pump, but mostly it is only the fvolumeregulater that its fitted on the pumphousing, its the biggest one from the two, mostly the lower one.

yes it will turn over,, but usually, when cambelt splits it breaks the rockers,, which in turn ,stops the valves opening fully,,when cambelt goes,,its head off,,im afraid,, ,, got fooled on this one once myself,, fitted belt and turned engine over by hand,, thought every thing would be ok,,but it had broken the rockers,, common fault,,lot a work as well,, sorry about the bad news

Just had a movano 2.2dci belt snapped. Removed head no damage, refitted with new belt and will not start - no high pressure fuel output. Wil run on easy start through air flow meter in a fashion! Can the diesel pump fail and cause a belt failure ??????
