Hi not the anwser you want but i am having a similar problem with my Astra 1.7 Diesel (1999 V). The engine atempts to start but does not tick over. So far i have had the timing belt changed but no luck.
I am about to change the fuel pump and glow plugs to get it started but from your note I think it may not be the fuel pump problem.
The computer program in my car was reset and did not show any fault either. I have also had an electriation by pass the immboiliser and alarm but still no luck - so I don't think that will help you.
Have you been to an Vauxhall dealer?
i have the same vehicle as yours ... and the same problem...Did you sort it?? if so can you help????

Hi Richard, What makes you think its the pipes and is there an esay was of checking for it?

replace the injector bleed off pipes they cost about £5 from vauxhall there a flexi hose which corrode and clog up stopping the car from starting.
