Small plastic connectors inside the switch?

You never connect an Earth wire into a switch - never.

You may mean Live & Neutral wires - if so you will achieve nothing by connecting them to plastic connectors - plastic does not conduct electricity - the wires need to join with metal connectors.

You don't mention the make & model of your appliance and the type of connection is unclear.

Crimp connectors often have a ring or a push-on terminal. They have a coloured band around them either Blue, or Red to indicate their size. The push-on automotive type are called Lucar Connectors. The ones with a ring end need a small screw through the ring to secure them. Both types need to be squeezed hard onto the wire with a crimp tool to hold fast.

Sometimes a switch will have a small brass screw to clamp the wire - like a light switch.

Often a switch will hold the wire with a sprung blade hidden inside that permits the wire to be pushed in but resists withdrawl - a tiny screwdriver in the opening can be used to press the blade away from the wire to remove it. When fitting a wire into a switch of this sort it often helps assembly to tin the wire with solder to stiffen it and make insertion easier.

Your switch is probably 2 pole meaning that it interrupts both Live & Neutral - the colours of the two wires on the other side will probably indicate where you place the Brown & Blue wires.
