Rinse/Spin cycle problem?

My Fisher and Paykel washing mashine goes through the wash cycle just fine. When it gets to rinse, it sometimes drains some of the water out, sometimes leaves all of it in and then starts unhappily beeping. When you put it on spin cycle, it attemts to drain, does it for 1-2 seconds, then stops and beeps again. Can anyone tell me what can be wrong with it?

Probably a blockage in the pump. Will show up as a very slow stream of water from the hose or no water at all. Usually you will get a humming sound as well if the pump stops turning.
