Mend Fisher & Paykel WM2420 Washing Machine Drain Cycle Pump

f&p Washing machine keeps stopping on the drain cycle?

the pump pumps water then stops and all lights go off no button works if I turn it off at the wall and wait for 5mins and then turn on it resumes draining water and then after a short time stops. when it gets to spin it works ok

I had the same issue. Take the lower front panel off and unscrew the pump cleanout from the pump (its in really tight). Clean out the basket and replace. Run a rinse and spin cycle to clean the line. Mine works like new now.

Sounds like drain pump is over heating. Power will shut off until pump cools down. Remove and inspect the pump. It will have a burnt smell if I am right.
