Unwanted Favorites won't delete?

Hi,
I have just found several new folders, (including online gaming, shopping gifts etc.) in my favorites folder that I did not put there. Each of them contains a multitude of links.

I have tried going into 'organise favorites' but the folders are apparently invisible. Neither can I right click on the folders to delete them. I also tried going into the favourites folder in 'my computer' but even when showing hidden files the new folders and links did not appear and so cannot be deleted.

I have Ad-Aware, SpyBot S&D, AVG Anit-Virus, CW Shredder in normal mode and safe mode. None of them have removed these unwanted favorites. I'm also worried there might be other problems with my computer caused by the same thing but I have not noticed any other changes.

Any help would be appreciated,

u have a browser hijacker all u can do is re-program ....there are downloads to keep them off ur computer but if u go there and not have program that keeps them off then re-programming is ur only option....stay away from www.coolweb search and smiley centeral these 2 are the most worse

It sounds like spyware, all the tools you have are very good ones for removing such things. If you're running Xp there may be a missing security update for IE possibly. Sometimes a system restore to an earlier time before you had the problem will work to rid you the problem, I'm sure others out there will know more about this than me, but make sure all your anti virus/ spyware progs' are up to date.
Personally, I keep using new tools to rid till I find the one that works.....maybe worth a go?
