remove virus from my desktop PC?

First of all remember there is more than one way to skin a cat. You don't mention why you cannot get on the Internet but I will assume it is the virus that is preventing you from doing so. Before proceeding try and identify the virus. If you can there may me a manual method of removing it, if this is the case you have won a watch. Here goes for the easy fix (remember it never goes to plan):

1 Ask a friend to download a copy of Antvirus programme to pendrive or other media. Do not connect another computer to yors, you may infect it.
2 Boot your PC in to safe mode if you can.
3 Load Antivirus programme from pen drive
4 Run the programme
5 Get back on the net and download updates and rerun the software

First Try to download and install Malwarebytes' AntiMalware, SpyBot S&D and install both of them.

After installing both try to update them and then run scanning.

After performing all of the above restart your computer in Safe Mode and then try to RUN Scanning in Safe Mode, since some of the services do not work in Safe model so it will be better to remove or scan in Safe Mode.

You can remove these malicious programs, from your computer by following these steps.

1 Download and install Malwarebytes on your computer .
2 Update your Malwarebytes .
3 Scan your computer for all the malwares in your computer .
4 Remove all the malwares , found while scanning with the malwarebytes .
5 Restart your computer .

My job is computers repair.
If the computer has been infected with a virus/trojan, and it is not allowing internet access, and you have data/music/etc stuck on your computer that you need. The easiest way to do this is: -
1. You will need access to another computer
2. You remove the infected hard drive from your computer
3. Connect it to the other computer as a slave drive.
4. Boot the computer

Your now connected slave drive will not have any files that are active allowing the full removal of any infected files, you can also now save any files that you need. Now run the virus checker through your disk and any infected files found will be removed. once virus checker has finished you can now replace your ( now Virus free ) hard drive back into your own computer case, and assuming that no windows files were removed during you virus scan you should have a fully working computer.
