how can i control the speed of my sewing machine?

is there a universal part i can fix on the foot of my machine to control the sewing speed,the machine is a
jones,i have had it for about 40yrs, ido not have the
model number, hope you can help

Hello Jane,
if you need a new foot control the standard style is called a YDk and is very easy to fit, I take it this is what you mean, you can email me if it is something different, you will find my email address on any answer from page 25 down because this site no longer allows email addresses to be shown.
