How do I repair wires on a Janome 5018 Sewing Machine foot pedal?

I need to know how to take the piece that holds the cord to the foot pedal out so I can fix the wire.

Hello Nelda,
Should be quite easy to get to the wires in the foot control, there should be either screws on the bottom of the control or if there is a pin either side of the control you need to unscrew and take the pins out and the control should come apart.
