Mend Fujifilm A500 Problem Jammed Open

finepix a500 lens problem?

the zoom lens on my finepix A500 is jammed in the open position & will not move in or out, you can hear motor noise.
The display screen is showing FOCUS ERROR.
New batteries make no difference.
