Mend Hotpoint VTD20 Dryer Working Open

How to fix my Hotpoint Aquarius 6kg vtd20?

The dryer sounds as if it is working, appears to be heating up when you open the door, but is not spinning/tumbling. What could be wrong.

check belt,open door put hand inside ,c if the drum turns easy,if no resistance belt broken ,to b sure remove lid and look,there should b a black band around middle of drum
