Why does my Hoover top loader have load of lint?

please tell me if it is normal for a washing machine 750lb with cold water and removable filter, that i clean after every load and I'm still getting lots and lots of lint on my cloths. I do the normal wash whites seperate . then colours then towel all seperate loads. please explain
