I have the same model, and hadn't used it since the early 1990's, brought it out, cleaned it, set it up, put in a cut up apple after starting it first, went through once, and stopped. By accident, I discovered that on the right side of the juicer, where the grayish colored clip is, if I put slight pressure on the clip area with my hand, the juicer works like a charm every time. I actually had mine stop several times in the beginning, and it wouldn't start, so I'd take it apart and put it back together again, then it would work, but I didn't realize that each time I did this I was holding and applying slight pressure to the clip area on the right side of the machine. Perhaps it is a short, or the clip isn't secure, but it seems fine to me now, so maybe that is the problem with yours as well. I literally hadn't used it since the early 90's and was pleased once I got it working again. I did not try to disassemble anything inside as I wouldn't attempt it at all and was prepared to get a newer juicer, but now I think since it produces a great juice, I'll wait until it truly "dies" and then spend the bucks for a new one.
