Mend Nissan Primera Turns Engine Light

nissan primera turns but wont start?

my nissan primera turns over but wont start the is the engine management light is also flashing. parked the car up locked it withe the plip came back opened the car up with the key so turned the egnition on and started up the car then the car died so repeated it again and the car died again not started since.
any suggestion? thanks
