This thread explains the various red light indications and suggests some solutions (but not cheap so anaesthetise your wallet).
Key observation: Solid red LED means the key is valid and authorised to start but there is something on the CAN bus is not working so the vehicle will not start

I saw this: Someone solved the problem in his DCI by changing the ecu relay (7700414484) and there have been no problems since.
He also came across a solid red light twice on a kangoo and my DCI. Kangoo was solved with the relay again. His DCI also had a loose gearbox earth.
Check both above points for solid red light. Do all your wiper/window/locking functions work. If they are also dead it's a sign of UCH failure. Relays are located in the engine bay fuse box. Look for the smallest ones.
