Have you got any warning lights on?? as most engine manegment systems kick in their protective "limp home" modes that limit the rev's to 3,000 rpm just to get you home or to the nearest garage to fix the fault

If you are in UK you shouldn't be doing over 70mph anyway so why worry it only does 95! where were you when you reached that speed?. Be careful it could mean auto driving ban.
