Mend Craftsman 536.881501 22 Model

Worn out auger rubber on Craftsman snow blower?

I have a 22" Craftsman model 536.881501 snow thrower and it has worked well for me. However, the auger rubbers are mostly gone and the auger itself is starting to grind away.I contacted Sear Parts and was told that I'd need to buy the whole assembly for $147+ shipping.Is there a rubber repair kit available and can the "common Joe" drill out and replace the rivets that hold the auger together.
