See if it is simply an error with the Windows Driver

open device manager in the contraoil panel and see if there is some error on the dvd drive (eror 31, 39 etc)

if so see http://www.capitaltechmd.com/index.php?option=com_agora&task=viewtopic&id=17&Itemid=19
