My cd rom will not play any cds games or music how can I fix it?

have you tryed the bios settup del key on start up (some o/s very) look to see if its there
if not make sure wires are in place or try this first go in to my comp and click properties for the cd drive if it isnt there try to see it in bios.
did you install a new programme just b4 it stopped working if so try and remember what you installed and uninstall it (its worth a try)
