Mend Switch Light Dim

How can I fix my Dimmer switch?

Switch does not control the dimness.Its Ok on full light but cannot dim the light.Its a fixed unit. Can it be opened to repair this?

No, do not open the dimmer .
you do get faulty ones from time to time .
if it is new take it back !!
There is no fuse in the dimmer .
