Thomson digi box will not turn on?

Lynn, you are a star, been trying to fix the box for 3 hours came across this and hey presto, it worked! Thankyou!

Don't know if this will work for you, it did for me.

Turn it off at the plug. Turn it back on and ON THE FRONT OF THE BOX press 'Stand by' repeatedly before any lights appear.

As soon as lights show press 'up' 'down''left' and 'right' on the front of the box.

From my Thomson digi box trouble shooting guide.
Fault:Reciever not responding to remote.
cause/remedy:
1. Press STB on handset
2.Unit is in low power standby. Press standby button on unit.
3.Point the remote control directly at the receiver.
4.Remove all obsticals which may impair the path of the remote control signal.
5. Check and replace remote control batteries
I know already done that.
I'll put all of it.
No picture/disrupted picture:
1.Check all connection at rear of unit.
2.Check RFin connection, Ensure cable to TV are inserted correctly.
3.Select Av channel on TV set.
4.Replace aerial outlet plate with sheilded type
(don't know what they mean about that)
No sound: Check connections on unit.
No power? well need I say?
