AEG Sato F/F S75358 KG3 Fridge doesn't work?

As above. The Fridge indicator registers a temperature of +10c. The required temperature is set at +2c. I can't hear any noise from the fridge, but the light works OK, the Freezer is fine. The unit is only 1.5 years old. I have noticed that there is no carbon filter in place and could not have been there when bought, could that be an issue? All this is not a good thing with 2 milk guzzeling babies in the house.
