Mend Ford Transit Way Opening Out

is there a way of opening bonnet with out using key?

i have a 2001 ford transit and cannot get the bonnet open with key. i think key is just worn

My bonnet is hard to open but if I push the key in really hard and then turn the key the bonnet unlatches.
