Mend Polo Wont Open Inside

How do i fix my rearside door which won't open from the inside?

Hello!

I currently have a 2003 vw polo sport (1.4 16v). I bought the car 2 months ago and all the doors were opening and shutting perfectly. There were no faults. However just recently i noticed the door in the rearside behind the passengar seat would not open from the inside (at this point the car is still unlocked) BUT it opens from the outside so can anyone help me?

So basically no one can get out that way from the inside but if someone was to go outside and open the door it opens! Is this a electrical fault or what and how do i get this fixed?

At first i thought it was the frozen ice etc that jammed it so it would need a little push but it wasn't because all the other 3 doors open except for that one and this just happened out of the blue!

It would be gratefull if someone could get back to me. Thanks!

Thanks very much! It was quite simple really, i had a look at the manul afterwards and knew where it was. I thought it was a major problem at first which might cost hundreds to repair.

Thanks again

If you open the door and stoop down to look at the edge of the door you will probably find a small metal or perhaps plastic catch which should move from side to side. It will be a little stiff. Shift it across and try the door again - that's your child lock!

This may sound a bit stupid but where would the child lock button be on the car i have got? What symbol? where would it be located?

have you checked that child lock is not on? it's possible that it may be.
