lid arm on washing machine not working ?

The arm on lid is white plastic & sticks out at right rear corner. This lifts another part, the out of balance lever which lifts up & operates the microswitch. If yours is not working it may just need adjustment. Put left hand through gap between top of bowl & top deck on right hand side at rear. You will feel the out of balance lever. At the top & to the right will be a round plastic adjuster. Screw it clockwise 3 or 4 turns then retry closing lid. You should hear microswitch click just before lid is fully down.
