Philips TV ?

TV will not come on (power up), when power button is push green light flash (blink )then it turn's red and power off

I have a Philips 51" projection HDTV. Purchased Nov. 2005. It will not power on. However, if I unplug and wait 7-10 days, it will power up for a day.

TV repair told me to buy a new set. What can I fix?
