MY HUSBAND HAS JUST REPAIRED MY MACHINE WITH NEW GEARS BUT NOW THE FEED DOG PLATE WILL NOT SEAT PROPERLY AND WHEN TRYING TO SEW IT MOVES UP AND DOWN PLEASE HELP

For some reason it sounds like the teeth have been raised up somehow, if you look in the bottom of the machine underneath the teeth you will see a large screw that you can slacken off and raise and lower the teeth, the teeth should only just come above the needle plate.
