dryer cuts shuts?

i have a kenmore ultra fabric care tumble dryer. it will shut off half way through the drying cycle and it will take a very long time before it comes back on.

I am not familiar with this make but it sounds as though it is cutting out on a safety overload so try cleaning the filter and if it is a conventional dryer[one with a vent hose] make sure the hose is not blocked/flattened as this will cause it to overheat, if it is a condenser check that the condenser is clear.
