We have recently moved into a new home with a Veritas R8 alarm system fitted. We have been using the code as given to us by previous owners (who left no user guide) however when you enter the code the alarm beeps contiuously till you enter the code again and the tamper light is permanently illuminated red. We have since found instructions to change code and have done so but still have the same situation with the beeping and the red tamper light.
Can anyone point us in the right direction as to how to investigate or fix the tamper problem or why the alarm does not set properly (i'm assuming the constant beeping mens it is not set properly).
hello! Yesterday we had a power cut and my alarm does not work, when I key in the code the buttons does not respond. Do you think it is the battery? The keyboard illuminates, I checked the fuse and the alarm went off!

Does the alarm sound with 9 beeps which is then repeated ?
If so it's a tamper fault and you need to look at each sensor/detector and the bell box for a tamper fault.
It may be better to get an alarm engineer in

The alarm does not set as you have a tamper fault.
