No Spin cycle on a Miele W800 ?

Miele W800. No spin cycle. Select spin, drain pump seems to run ok [no blockages, impeller turns and water comes out the front if you don't put the plug-seal back :-)]. Drum doesn't turn (did twice... slowly... when empty, then stopped) pump motor continues to run and 'drain' light on front panel flashes. Would appreciate advice as to where fault may lie e.g. Bearings, Drive belt? Motor? and whether this might be an uneconomic repair.
