How to power down ?

I have moved to a house with an 'Accenta 8' system which has not been used by the previous resident.No codes or instructions left. The keypad numbers are all lit up behind the panel flaps but no facilities are active.

I just want to shut the thing down but wonder if cutting the mains power will cause alarms to activate via reserve batteries.... can I just disconnect it from the mains without any problem ???

Well.yes it IS that simple,actually.... If the reserve battery is OK the alarm won't sound for up to eight hours and then without power even the siren battery will discharge leaving the system dorment.
The installer has programmed the unit to prevent me defaulting back to basic 0123 codes (To ensure future work I suppose) so I suppose I shall have to annoy the neighbours for twenty minutes of 'alarm' before pulling a couple of wires.
