Hi
Contact Zoostorm as it will still be under warranty.

Yuri,
'Bucko' is perfectly correct! Do not mess with the computer. Bundle it up and exchange for a Full Refund, no 'ifs' or 'buts'
When you order or buy another computer buy online if you can, you have more rights than you have from a high street shop, and less hassle. Go for Dell instead, a better choice.

Speak nicely to the shop/vendor who sold it to your wife. Ask them about the warranty terms that came with the machine. Having the receipt helps but they should accept responsibility even without it. Their own records will show the details of the sale (good to have the date it was bought). Your problem has nothing to do with the monitor - you have a disk error. It may be a hard error (need new disk) or it may be a soft error (need reinstall S/W). Best get an expert to sort it out.

The trader is not obliged in law to give you a receipt so you do not need a receipt to ask them to help - see:
