Mend Brother xr-65 Bobbin Thread Machine

Brother xr-65 won't pick up bobbin thread?

I have only used my sewing machine a few times, but have had it for years. Now, it will not pick up the bobbin thread. If it needs retimed, can you include instructions on how to do it?

Put in a "brand new" SCHMETZ needle, make sure the flat side of the needle is facing away from you and the needle is all the way up in the needle clamp. You can use another brand of needle if you don't care if the machine works well or not.

If you plan on doing mechanical repairs to the machine yourself it is probably best to just save yourself a lot of frustration and throw the machine in the trash now. Because it will be completely ruined after you try to repair it yourself!
