how can I open my whirlpool washing machine door?

The lock is stuck on my washing machine door. how can I unlock it?

Helen, yes I did manage to resolve the door that wouldn't open issue. I put a screw driver along side the lock mechanism and pulled the door open that way. I did this once and since then the machine has been operating as it should, perhaps it reset the mechanism, I don't know. any way it now works.

I don't have an answer to this but I wondered if you managed to resolve it as I am having the same problem and wonder if there was a way of releasing it without calling out a plumber or breaking the door!!
