HAVE BEEN GIVEN A SANSUI SAN0712 DVD REC NOT SURE HOW TO CONNECT TO RECORD ?

I HAVE BEEN GIVEN A SANSUI SAN0712 DVD PLAYER/RECORDER, I HAVE SET UP TO PLAY A DVD BUT HOW DO I RECORD?--WHEN PRESSING THE REC ON REMOTE IT SAYS ON THE BOX SCREEN "LOAD", BUT THATS AS FAR AS I CAN GO. BECAUSE I HAVE A FOXTEL- VCR -SET TOP BOX-AND OF CAUSE THE TV I FIGURE I HAVE DONE SOMETHING WRONG.
CAN ANYONE HELP ME WITH MY PROBLEM BEFORE I RESORT TO GETTING SOMEONE IN TO HELP ME

We have just got one of these machines, it is a DVD recorder so just check that you have a recordable blank dvd in the machine. It will accept DVD-/+R or DVD-/+RW media.
