You should use DVD Recorder as main recorder/connection to DVB for Direct Rec and Q-Link as it has a far higher record resolution than VHS VCR. Then copy from DVD to Tape, instead of Tape to DVD.
Connect DVD Recorder's AV1 to either AV1 or AV2 on the TV.. Here is the choice:
TV AV1 - RGB input (best) but no Q-Link.
*TV AV2(S) - SVHS input (good) with Q-Link. *I suggest this.
Connect the VCR AV1 to the remaining TV AV input.
(Remember Q-Link is only available off TV AV2 to VCR AV1)
Connect DVD's AV2 to VCR's AV2.
Connect Aerial to DVD RF input.
Connect DVD RF output to VCR RF Input.
Connect VCR RF output to TV Aerial Input.
Set RF modulator outputs to give least interference, usually one on CH21 other on CH68. To set modulator CH on DVD press and hold down function button for 5 secs. To set modulator CH on VCR press and hold Menu button for more than 5 secs. Adjust CH with CH Up/Down Buttons. OK to Store. Retune TV as necessary to corresponding CH.
To copy DVD to VHS Tape. Press "AV Input" on VHS remote until A2 shows in VCR display. Press play on DVD. Press Rec on VCR.
To copy VHS Tape. Press "AV Input" on DVD remote until A2 shows in DVD display. Press play on VHS Tape. Press Rec on VCR.
Video Plus Recordings: Set CH Pos to AV2 for DVB recordings or use EPG in your TV Guide Menu to set timer for DVD recording.
