how to fix a popped out gear shift for a peugeot 206 1.1?

In case you havent fixed this yet - if you shine a torch down behind the inlet manifold you will see that one end of one of the nylon connector rods in the gear linkage has come off a ball-ended metal connector rod. This can usually be pressed back in place (you may have to remove the air intake pipe to reach it), but if its a loose fit it means that the nylon rod really needs renewing as its worn loose and may happen again.

However this would get you home if it ever happened on the road again.
