WHAT happened to my DvD player?

My DVD player just stopped responding. It shows that power is going in to to beacuse its light goes on, but doesn't respond at all. When i plug it to the televesion it shows the dvd sign, but no"loading", etc. I need help.

WHEN CONNECTING MY HITACHI PDV313 PORTABLE DVD PLAYER TO THE CIGARETTE LIGHTER IN MY TRUCK I ACCIDENTALLY PLUGGED IT IN BEFORE CONNECTING IT TO THE VOLTAGE TRANSFORMER 24V DOWN TO 12V THE SO CALLED PROTECTIVE FUSE ON THE CABLE IS OK BUT THE UNIT IS STILL NOT OPERATING. CAN ANYONE GIVE ME A SOLUTION OR A REPAIR CENTER IN SCOTLAND TO SEND IT TO? OR IS IT JUST FRIED AND ITS GAME OVER FOR THIS 4 MONTH OLD DVD?
