Mend Dvd Player Works Fine

DVD player will not recognise DVD's, works fine with CD's?

This happened once before (same player) but player started to work again. What I found is that it will play DVD's that are single layer but not dual layer (I assume that this is why it will still play CD's). Does anybody out there know what causes this and what I can do to fix it?

similar thing happend with my ps2. look up repair info on it. I think it has something to do with the laser voltage.
