pfaff pedal capacitor?

could anyone tell me what the capacitor looks like in a 1960 pfaff machine pedal. the pedal is metal, metal case, approx 7 inches long and 3 inches wide

Hello Gordon,
It looks like a big fuse with a wire usually coming out of each end and is fixed to two terminals, if the capacitor blows the machine will keep running, take it out and discard it, you don't need it.
