Mend Servis M7611 Freezer Temperature Motor

Servis Freezer Model M7611 - not working?

We'd be ever so grateful if anyone has any idea why our Servis M7611 freezer is not working
- no motor sound and no freezing temperature -
yet the lights still work and warning light flashes!
We realise the problem might be the thermostat, but could it be anything else?
