Mend Craftsman RE2000 Replace Belt

Replace belt on Craftsman RE2000?

How can i fix my ride on lawn mower ,it's a craftsman it is old I have no books ,it is transmission belt driven? All of a sudden I was ridding then it stopped moving no noise or any sound.

i just replaced the drive belt on my re2000 and yeah it was impossible without dropping the transmission out i used a car jack to lift the mower up while leaving the wheels on the ground

I just had mine replaced and the mechanic had said that it is easier to lower the transmission a couple of inches to get the belt in place. But then again he had a chain lift so of course it was easier. hope that helps.
