Mend Craftsman 917.377292 Lawn Mower Drive Belt Blade

How do you change the drive belt for self propeled Craftsman lawn mower?

I have a Craftsman self propelled lawn mower, model 917.377292, and I can't figure out howw to get the belt guard off underneath the mower deck to be able to remove the belt and replace it with the new one on the spindle that turns it and the blade.

I'm no mechanic by any means---I'm doing the same thing and got mine off. I'm still waiting for the belt I ordered.There's a flap that is tucked in above the deck. I just pryed it to the bottom with a screwdriver. A little tough but it won't break.
