My monitor takes about 20 minutes to boot up?

Just wanted to say a big thank you to Alfred for his expert advice. I had exactly the same problem, just changed the six 470uF/25V capacitors, and the monitor is as good as new. Thanks again, God bless.

Hi Alfred

I have a broken 30917 monitor here too. Tried to open it but no succes. Removed the 4 bottom screws but the panel is still stuck at the sides and top. Can't slide it up. Just opens a bit at the bottom. Use more force ?

If you're handy with electronics, open up the monitor (remove the 4 screws from the bottom, then slide up the front bezel). After removing the metal shielding, you'll find 2 PCB's. The bigger one is the power supply, remove it. When you flip it over, you'll find 6 capacitors near the pins that connect the power supply with the main electronics. Replace them with at least equal types (the capacitors are 470uF/25V but I took 680uF/16V from a broken computer motherboard because I had nothing else available). Then reassemble your monitor. It should be fine now.

Yep I have the same one and same problem. It took mine 30mins+.... Then I sent it in to Medion and they gave me a new one :)

Hi Bill

I had same problem with a Medion 17" TFT Monitor MD 30917 PN, which was still under the Medion 3 years warranty. Rang Medion Sat 12 July, they collected it my courier Tue 15 July, repaired it and delivery it back by courier Thur 17 July.
They tell me they have had to repair the power supply board and logicboard. It now works perfectly coming on straight away.
Try ringing them on 01793 715698 and see what they can do.
