Mend Vauxhall Astra Van Diesel Engine Fault

fault with ignition?

astra van 2001 1.7 diesel. when i turn the key the engine does not turn over. i put new starter motor last year when the ignition just clicked. it won't click or anything. can anyone suggest a way i can fix it

get a two meter or so lenght of wire,remove the solonoid wire from the starter(single wire 3-4mm)connect the wire to the spade terminal on the starter solonoid,gears in neutral hbrake on ignition on touch other end of wire to battery+,if starter clicks and turns motor is good if not then probably ignition switch on end of key barrel
