Mend Thermostatic Shower Valve

Thermostatic shower valve?

About 18 months ago I had an Ultra dual control thermostatic shower valve fitted. I am pretty sure the thermostat has now given up as I can only get a luke warm shower at best. other taps/showers in the house are hot and working fine.

How easy is it to change the thermostatic cartridge in this type of valve and does this need to be carried out by a plumber?

is the hot pipe to the shower hot or warm ?
sometimes the cartridges get stuck in one position try switching it to fully hot then fully cold a few times that can free them from limescale.
